Orders & Consequences

Command an expeditionary force through the Cold War hot spots of the 1960s and ’70s – with orders you type or speak, or by taking direct control of any unit when it matters. Your troops call for artillery, napalm and medevac; you approve or deny. Use your firepower with care: break the rules of engagement and you are fined – break the Geneva Conventions and you lose soldiers to war crimes trials.

Watch

What you bring is all you have

No base building, no buying units mid-battle. You choose your force before the landing and fight with it to the end. Afterwards you refit with the budget command gives you – spend it wisely before the fleet sails on.

The game

Firepower. ROE. Consequences.

You command an expeditionary force – from the carrier off the coast to the last rifle squad in the alleys. Winning is the easy part. Winning the right way is the game.

01 · Command

Give orders like a commander

Speak or type your orders in plain language. The radio reads them back, your company commanders split up the work, and every unit acts on your intent.

“Alpha, clear the village east of the mosque, then hold.”“Alpha, clearing village east of the mosque, then holding. Out.”
02 · Fog of war

See only what your troops see

Ridges, buildings, palm groves and jungle block both sight and fire. Recon has to find the enemy before your guns can hit them – and at night, without night vision, you are half blind.

03 · Consequences

Live with what you ordered

The streets are full of civilians. Rules of engagement violations, incidents and war crimes are counted on the board and in your debrief – with fines, compensation and court martial. Your career depends on how you fought, not just whether you won.

04 · Logistics

Keep them in the fight

You cannot just send tanks and infantry off and forget them. They need radio coverage to hear your orders, ammunition brought forward, and the wounded carried out before they can push on. Running the supply lines is your job – neglect it and the attack stalls.

  • No two enemies alike – some are at deep peace and never see you coming, some start by chasing rumours and reports of your arrival, and some are already lying in ambush, waiting for you.
  • Calls from the field – medevac, fire support, ammo, smoke. Approve or deny them while the fight goes on.
  • Amphibious operations from a carrier group: landing craft, rubber boats, helicopters and paratroopers.
  • A battlefield that breaks – craters, collapsing buildings, burning palms and wildfires that open new lines of sight.
  • Civilians with lives of their own – markets, traffic, panic, and tips over the phone that may or may not be true.
  • A career on the line – buy your force within a budget, rise through six ranks and earn (or lose) thirty medals.

Combined arms, one radio net

Pick your companies in the mission lobby – then fight with everything from snipers to an AC-130, as long as the signal teams keep everyone on the net.
